Improvi-Robin

Improvi-Robin logo

Improvi-Robin is a round robin group quilting adventure. Focus is on creative play through improvisational and liberated piecing with what we find in our scrap and “orphans and extras” bins.

Each participating quilter creates a starting block, and swaps with other “robins” to add to a different WIP each month. At the end of each round, pictures will be shared on the Improvi-Robin flickr group.

A PDF of the Improvi-Robin Guidelines is available here .

If you wanna play, please first READ THE GUIDELINES to make sure this is a good fit for you. We’ll do one “round” a month for 5-7 months (depending on the size of your circle), then you’ll have the rest of the year to finish, quilt, and bind your top. Your circle partners will be depending on you to participate in every round, so if you have any doubts about being able to make that commitment please wait for a better time before signing up.

International players welcome! I’ll do my best to group regional/country participants together, to minimize postage costs and transit times.

HOW TO SIGN UP:

Send an email to Stephanie {at} VenusdeHilo {dot} com if you would like to be part of the next Season. Put “Improvi-Robin” in the subject line, and provide your name, quilting level (newbie or experienced), and mailing address. I’ll contact you when we have enough people for another circle.

If you’d like to volunteer to be a Mama Robin (group leader), that’s great, just let me know!

Hi Venus
I too have a fabric stash. Having been painting and knitting I have now turned to making a quilt.
I really like what you have done and look forward to seeing more of your beautiful work.
kindest regards,
Anne
