My design wall is filling up with future pillow-covers and some improv minis. I’m very into 8-pointed stars at the moment, and in my quest to finish as much as possible this year have decided to turn some orphan blocks into pillow covers. The Star pillows are partly for fun, and partly test samples for a new pattern. Hoping to get that into the shop, too, before mid-summer.
The star blocks are 14″ without borders, and the orphan blocks are all 12″, so that means there’s room for a narrow+wide picture-frame effect. I like big pillows, so after quilting, squaring up, and assembly into pillow covers these will finish at a 20″ size.
This Malka Dubravsky dot (Moda) is so much fun, I hardly ever get a chance to put the yardage away, because I’ve been auditioning it for just about everything lately (it makes an appearance, in two colorways, in my recent fish collage). It really shines here (IMO):
Alas, there are other demands on my attention, and this time of year the studio is too hot to work in except for the earliest and latest hours of the day, so as much as I’d love to be charging full-speed ahead on all of this, progress will proceed at a leisurely little-bit-at-a-time pace.

What are you working on this summer?
