When I heard about Bonnie Hunter’s Labor Day Yard Sale linky party this past Friday morning, my plans for the weekend (not very exciting) were replaced by a whirlwind of fabric culling and cutting. Both my “large scraps” bin and “half-yard-ish” pile had achieved mountainous proportions and the idea of destashing to make some room was irresistible.
After most of a day pulling and cutting, I’ve got some lovely goodies for you. Many of these are former favorites that I’ve used in so many projects it’s time to send what’s left to a new home. Others have simply been passed over again and again, and since I haven’t put them to use yet I’m giving you the chance. Over the years many of you have commented on loving my fabric and color choices, so now you can play with my stash, too!
All the choices shown below are listed in a new “DeStash” section of the Etsy shop, along with bundles not shown here. Click any photo for more details.
****** UPDATE ******
The scrap bags, strips, and squares have sold out,
also the “Girly” charm squares.
More charm sets and FQ bundles still in the shop…
I’ve got a bunch of CHARM SETS (48 5″ squares) to choose from. There’s lots of Kaffe and Amy and other Westminster Fibers and Free Spirit designers and odds and ends of similar stuff. This one’s my favorite. (If it doesn’t sell fast I’ll might delist it and play with it myself.)
And some FAT QUARTER BUNDLES in end-of-summer and here-comes-fall color themes (more in the shop):
Have you started on a Scrappy Trips quilt?
I’ve got a grab bag of pre-cut strips leftover from mine, which you can find here.
Thinking about a Scrap Vomit quilt? (what a horrible name for such a lovely design!) I’ve finished making my blocks and have almost half a pound (over 7 oz.) of 2.5″ squares leftover. They can be yours with a click:
And for those who want to go really scrappy, I’m selling off two pounds of scraps (as two 1-pound parcels, grab one or both!). This is all of it, each bag is roughly half.
There’s a huge variety of fabrics and sizes: the larger pieces are mostly in the 6″x8″ range, some are bigger; some strips and generous small scraps, too. More pics with the Etsy listing, if you’re curious.
FYI: I am a pre-washer: all of this fabric has been through a wash/dry cycle before being refolded into my stash, and has been stored in a mostly cat-proof cabinet in my smoke-free home. It’s been pressed again before cutting and refolding into these bundles.
I’m already thinking about another destash sometime down the line. There are stacks in the yardage cabinet I haven’t even looked through yet, and by next summer there will be a whole new crop of smaller cuts to play with.
If you’ve found your way here from Bonnie’s linky party, a big warm “aloha” and thanks for stopping by! Hope you found something here to tickle your fancy.
