… no, I don’t mean Christmas, although that’s almost here. The excitement is because I started quilting my long-neglected Improvi-Robin top yesterday. (flickr pic of the finished top with borders is here)
Starting with lots of in-the-ditch lines with the walking foot, and plan to add a few areas of FMQ detail while keeping the overall treatment fairly simple. The piecing is the star in this one.
Will share more pics (and catch up on Santa-sewing shares) when it’s done. So close to my goal of “12 in 2012″ and one more week to get there.
Mele Kalikimaka to everyone!

Merry Christmas, Stephanie!! Can’t wait to see what it will look like!
Wow! Congrats. Mine is still in the pile to be finished. I have the fabric to finish the top, but nothing for the back yet. When is the next improvirobin going to start?
The next Improvi-Robin will (I hope!) start up very soon, as soon as my Season 1 quilt is finished and ready to show off! I’m too embarrassed to launch a new Season when I haven’t finished the first one yet: hope to finish over the weekend or early next week.
Based on Season 1 experience, seems like an annual approach works best: 6 months to round-robin the work, and the rest of the year to finish it!
Watch here for an invitation post sometime in early January, with our “starting blocks” going out by the end of the month. Hope you can finish yours up soon, too, so we can admire it.
